We asked people from a variety of different countries to write “bag” in their own language. We randomly printed these words on canvas to create our Sekai pattern. Now it is even used as the design for our gift bags.
Italy, Germany, France, Spain, South Korea, China... the more familiar countries’ script as well as that of the lesser known ones such as Myanmar, Nepal, Ukraine, Sweden, Afghanistan, etc., were used in this design.
Truth to say, at the beginning, some words were incorrectly spelled or written and we were most embarrassed when customers from the respective countries pointed out the mistakes.
In the handbags, shoulder bags, Boston bags, etc., you can see that the position of the words on each bag is different due to the fabric being cut from different parts of the material. The front, the back, the bottom, the handle - if you look carefully, you can see the word “bag” written in many different scripts. How about travelling around the world with our Sekai bags?
