A Happy New Year!

A Happy New Year to you all!
Thank you very much indeed for your patronage during the past year.

I joined the company last June as a sales clerk leaving my home town in Kyushu and living alone for the first time in Kyoto. Since then, I have often seen bags with the “Ichizawa Shinzaburo Hanpu” brand tag while walking in the streets. At times, it was a high-school girl at a bus stop, a woman going to the supermarket, a man on his way to work, an old man walking his dog, and so on. Whenever I see someone with our bag, I always secretly thank them and bow to them in my heart.

When I decided to work here, I told my friend about the company, and she immediately sent me a photo. It was a book cover made from an old long-used light brown Ichizawa bag. She said that the bag was beyond repair, but loath to part with it, had asked her acquaintance to remake it into a book cover. I realized then that the bags of Ichizawa Shinzaburo Hanpu were loved by people not only in Kyoto, but also in my hometown. I just hadn’t been aware of the fact until then.

I would like to keep a positive outlook and try my hand at everything I can, and learn all I can from the senior staff. As well, I give thanks for having this opportunity to be part of creating and selling bags which are loved through the generations.

I hope you will continue to patronize our shop and that this year will be a good year for you.
